Sawtry Dental Practice
Dentures With Complete Freedom
Denture stabilisation is a simple but effective solution that makes the frustrations of loose fitting dentures a thing of the past.
Even the most beautifully crafted dentures can become loose fitting and cause real frustration for their wearers, making them feel self-conscious about talking or smiling, and unable to eat ‘tricky’ foods like apples or steak. At Sawtry dental, we offer dental stabilisation to tackle this problem and transform the lives of denture wearers.

How It Works?
With denture stabilisation, two or more dental implants are inserted securely into your jaw using the very latest techniques. Your dentures are then locked on to these implants, anchoring them securely at all times. With the dentures unable to move, you are completely free to live your life to the full with no food off limits and no need to worry about moving dentures when you talk or smile.
Denture stabilisation is a simple, effective and affordable option for many denture wearers. The process is carried out at Sawtry Dental by our experienced dentists who will be happy to discuss this treatment option with you in more detail and comprehensively assess your teeth, gums and dentures to see whether it is right for you.

What Is Denture Stabilisation?
Denture stabilisation involves using mini dental implants to anchor the denture; the denture is held in place by dental implants, which are inserted into the jawbone. Denture stabilisation is a very effective option for denture patients because the implants hold the denture firmly in place and there is no risk of the denture slipping or becoming loose. This means no soreness in the gums and no worries when you eat.
Denture stabilisation provides great aesthetics, increases bite power and gives you peace of mind that you can eat what you like without having the worry of your denture slipping out of place.

Denture Stabilisation
Procedure For Denture Stabilisation
Initial Consultation
Comprehensive oral examination, including: Dental X-rays or 3D CBCT scans and Medical history review. The dentist evaluates bone density and determines if implants are suitable.
Treatment Planning
A personalised plan is created based on: Number of implants needed (usually 2–6 per arch) and Type of denture system (snap-on, bar-retained, etc.)
Implant Placement
Performed under local anaesthesia (or sedation if needed). Titanium implants are surgically inserted into the jawbone. Healing time (osseointegration) is usually 3–6 months, during which the implants fuse with bone.
Denture Modification
During healing: Temporary dentures may be modified to avoid pressure on implants. After healing: Existing dentures may be retrofitted, or new ones fabricated to attach to implants.
Attachment of Denture to Implants
Once healing is complete: Small connectors (locators or abutments) are attached to implants. Denture is fitted with matching housings that “snap” onto the implants for a secure fit.
